As the designer of educational programs for the Saudi Art Council, I was involved in presenting a series of workshops, seminars, and professional courses in 2018. These events were aimed at individuals of all ages, seeking to explore the rich cultural heritage of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The focus of these programs was on the legends and stories that have been passed down by grandmothers for generations, providing a glimpse into the city's unique history and traditions.
The purpose of these workshops was not only to preserve these legends and stories but also to present them in a way that was engaging and accessible for attendees of all ages. The workshops were structured in a way that allowed participants to learn about different aspects of Jeddah's cultural heritage through interactive activities and hands-on experiences. Each workshop was designed to provide a different perspective on the legends of the city, giving attendees a comprehensive understanding of the culture and traditions that make Jeddah such a unique place.
The seminars and professional courses, on the other hand, were designed to provide attendees with a more in-depth understanding of specific aspects of Jeddah's cultural heritage. These programs were targeted towards professionals and individuals with a keen interest in Jeddah's history, art, and architecture. They were led by experts in the field who provided attendees with a deeper insight into various aspects of Jeddah's cultural heritage, including the city's iconic landmarks and architecture.
One of the most exciting aspects of these programs was that they were held alongside a Alobour exhibition. The exhibition showcased various artworks, artifacts, and installations inspired by the legends and stories of Jeddah. This provided attendees with a unique opportunity to experience the city's cultural heritage in a different setting and gain a deeper appreciation for the legends and stories that are woven into the fabric of Jeddah's rich history.
It was truly an honor to be part of such an exciting initiative, aimed at preserving and celebrating the cultural heritage of Jeddah. Working with the Saudi Art Council to design these educational programs enabled me to connect with people of all ages and backgrounds, each with their unique perspectives and interests. It was rewarding to see the enthusiasm and curiosity of workshop participants as they learned more about Jeddah's cultural heritage, and how the legends and stories of the grandmothers have contributed to shaping this amazing city.
The program included the following workshops:
A Trip and adventure
Building Bridges
Looking for A Clues
Shadow of A Tree
The Limits of The Letters
