One Year Program
During my time as an educational program designer at the Misk Art Institute, my responsibilities involved the creation of a year-long plan for the institute's community programs. This program was designed to cater to both novice and professional artists by offering a series of monthly workshops that introduced different artistic styles to all members of the community. Additionally, we organized masterclasses aimed at developing the skills of novice artists with the intention of enabling them to become professional artists.
Our aim was to create an interactive artistic community in the Saudi art scene while working to achieve the goals of the institute of promoting creativity and cultural awareness. Alongside these workshops and masterclasses, we also organized children's workshops and weekly seminars that attracted artists, trainers, and mentors from around the world.
During Misk Arts Week, we organized an actual and virtual community program that focused on issues of identity and culture for all members of society. This initiative was made possible through our professional registration system run in-house at the Institute, which allowed for a seamless and efficient experience for all participants.
Alongside these programs, I was also tasked with organizing an archive art library that was constantly updated with new books, research materials, and collections to build a vast and rich library accessible to both artists and the public.
In addition to these responsibilities, I was also involved in creating the Misk Art Institute's inaugural art residency program. As part of this team, I contributed to the design of the program's educational schedule and coordinated follow-up with the participating artists. In this role, I also took part in the artist selection process by conducting interviews and worked to provide guidance on the program's overall structure.
Undoubtedly, I am proud to have been part of a program that promoted creativity, cultural awareness, and artistic growth in Saudi Arabia. As I look forward to discussing new possibilities for collaboration with Manifesto Middle East, I remain committed to developing programs that foster a thriving artistic community in Saudi Arabia and the broader Middle East region. Building a thriving artistic community would enhance the region's creative industries and foster a more profound appreciation of art and culture.
